Uphill downhill

The Little ones both acquired a new pair of wellies the other day. While we were on holiday last month we noticed they had both worn holes in the bottom of their old ones (they do get worn a lot in our house) and so after a trip to the shops where they both chose the same pink flowery ones we took them out for a walk to wear them in.

The Little ones loved their new wellies.
We drove to a nearby hill and view point and set off up the hill, everyone was in good spirits. We had a go at riding on some of the wooden animals at the picnic spot at the bottom of the hill, the girls liked the snake best.

Little 2 loves to walk and will walk for ages, she doesn't like being in the pushchair where possible and it is great that she just goes and keeps going, she really is a little trooper, she will walk beautifully holding onto the pushchair or my hand when I ask. She likes to run and is rather cheeky because when she runs she does not stop no matter how much you call her, you have to run after her and catch her which she thinks is hilarious, she definitely likes to be free!

We had some company on our stroll in the form of Nanny and Uncle M, both of whom the girls adore, we all walked up the hill, which is rather steep stopping for a rest half way up. This was the perfect time to take a family photo.

The steep hill got a little too much for Little 2 whose legs just couldn't climb anymore, she had missed her nap today and was quite tired as we neared the top. So a piggy back on Daddy was called for.

At the top Little 1 refused to go any further, I think her legs were tired too! After a short rest and a little encouragement she made it up to the view point.

Once at the top we all enjoyed the view and spent some time working out the local landmarks, while the Little ones had a little fun with a hole, a stick and some ants!

Daddy had a bit of fun with little 2 as well!

After we had climbed down we had a little picnic, hot chocolate for the girls, coffee for us and lots of biscuits. The girls spotted a pair of butterflies fluttering about and chasing each other, they followed and watched them for ages, my camera is not very quick but you can just about see them right in the bottom right hand corner of the picture!

A lovely family walk on a perfect spring day. We do love getting out and about as a family.
